That truly was an atrocious performance last night. So bad, we even lost count of how many we conceded!! So what went wrong? Well, just about everything, I think. I'll accept responsibility for a couple of the goals, but both Martin and I were carrying knocks and at times there just wasn't enough cover defensively. One goal was "just one of those things" as it took a deflection and went in. But before the cry goes up that it was the fault of the defence, just have another look at that score - no goals for us. It wouldn't have mattered if I'd conceded only 1 goal, as the fact is that yet again we were falling short in front of the opposition goal. Or to be more precise, wide or high. So, have we learnt anything this season? Will next season be any better? I think if we're all honest, the team got a wee bit cocky after the first couple of games and didn't see the warning signs over the next couple. The fact is that if we had managed to score just one more goal in each of our games, those three draws would be wins and one of the defeats would be a draw - an extra 7 points!
