I would suggest that we try to get through the game without Martin, and only use him if someone else is injured. We were the better for not using substitutes last week, in my belief. And I am determined to keep a clean sheet tonight!!

It is with deepest regret that I have to inform you in this way, but the Big Friendly Gardner (BFG) is now a Big Fucked Goalie. He done his knee in last night (must be jealous) and is now off work today.
If any of you want to put a note in the paper, his real name is Davina Atkinson.
What a big girl!, my knee is fucked and I came into work the next day and I played on for an hour after I done it.

Firstly, I am only Davina when I go to the Rocky Horror Show, or on occasional weekends.
Secondly, I didn't come in yesterday so that Martin could feel all superior and super-hard.
Thirdly (and sadly) I very much doubt that I'll be playing for at least one Monday night :-( So, Captain Matt needs to start the search for a replacement 'keeper.
As for the match report:
This could be remembered as "BFG Monday", what with me doing my knee (in the first few minutes) and getting one shot hammered into my privates in the second half! Once I did my knee, it was only a matter of time before they scored, I suppose, and as I said in the pub, I'd have expected to save at least two of the three they scored, but they were all good shots, so who knows? A lack of goals from us, though, made the number conceded irrelevant. On balance, we were well beaten by a good team who contained the game once they got ahead. We must stop clearing the fence when having a shot at goal, though.

It's hard getting a shot on target when the goals are as low as they are, your losing and getting more and more frustrated the longer we go without scoring. I'm not making excuses up, we were extremely poor on Monday but it weasn't just our shooting! We must now put things right next monday against Stanwix. Onwards and Upwards!

I don't think it's purely the shooting that's at fault, think that's irrelevant seeing as I can only remember Matt and Andy making chance for a pop. Need to make the chances before you miss them! They probably missed way more than us, but put three away aswell. I think they hit the framework three times. They were simply better on the night, played really tight and they made sure they were first to the ball to nearly everything. They have been playing for a lot longer than us though and it showed.

just sounds like you were beaten fairly and squarely, end of! they were always gonna be one of the tougher teams to beat. as long as we get results where we definitely should then we'll be pushing for promotion. if they're a better team then they're a better team - what more can you say?!
