Crown Corkers 0-6 Cumberland Building Society

Pre-Match

Dave Atkinson
The CBS 'keeper tends to stand "tall" and is vulnerable to low shots. Having said that, hit them just inside the post and most 'keepers won't get them.

Stuart Chandler
The Cumberland Building Society don't look like they score loads of goals. They've got that massive lad up front who takes around 45 seconds to turn. He's strong though. So if we keep it tight we'll have a good chance. They're definitely beatable.

Lee Ormerod
hit them just inside the post - i like it - if only we'd known to do that before we would be scoring from every shot...................!

Dave Atkinson
Hee-hee.......... that comment really got to you, didn't it? ;-)

Lee Ormerod
only as much as if someone said:
Dave, all you need to do is make sure you get a hand to every ball so that it doesn't cross the goal line and/or palm it away to a safe area!

Dave Atkinson
Nope, I've got no problem with that advice, sounds pretty good to me :-)

Lee Ormerod
10-0 from now on lads - no excuses!!!! ;-)

Post-Match

Dave Atkinson
Monday night shocker.........and the Gandalf Stick made a return!
OK. 6-0. Ouch. It was covered in the pub to a large extent, but poor teamwork sums it up quite well!
Not much of the crisp passing which allowed us to control many of the games this season. As for communication, Martin and I didn't hear much of it from our position behind the goal.

Dave Jones
Yes we weren't too great last night went 2 - 0 down and then it all went to pot, can only judge myself and I felt I can play a lot better (although i was pleased I managed not to concede a single free kick), and it seems most of us feel the same. As the ref said at the end - lacking cohesion. Maybe little less eagerness to play the "killer pass" and more patience. Sometimes the ball has to go back if there are no other options or if you're under pressure when you receive the ball, especially against the better teams because they will mop up and hit us on the break. Going back isn't always a "negative" . Also, none of us are maradonna so even if our heads have dropped I think we should keep it simple! Behind us now, move on. I know I can play better than that and I know everyone else can too and when we put it together it can be really good football (even last night at a couple of points!), so just forget it and learn from it. Don't let our heads drop and show em next week against top of the league!

Andrew Little
I'm going to hold my hands up. Last night i lost the plot and i wish i could say thats the first time it's happened this season but it isn't. It became evident frustration got the better of me second half and perhaps others. It's now time to get gritty and grind out results if we are to salvage anything this term.
