A tough fixture to start with then. I know we beat them 3-0 last time, but they do have some quick players.

I do think with our new team we should rip them apart. There should be a minimum standard of annihilation every week from now on. Is that a bit too cocky?

Not cocky at all - realistic! As long as we play like we did in the good games, defending tight and building up the lead. You were awesome in some of the games last season, dudes.....

Cocky is good it brings confidence with it look at The Legends, bunch of cheating gits but they won every game and their cockiness must of contributed towards that

I think you'll find that the fact that they were dirty, cheating Bar Stewards was the reason they won every game..... They were the Portugal of Carlisle Tier 3. We are the England of Tier 3, playing the game fairly and honestly, and ultimately we will win the league justly.

Post-Match

A nice solid start to the season. I think my "warm up" for Stanwyx United helped me make the one real save I had to make..... which just goes to show how well my defenders did last night! They were shutdown before they got to the area most of the time. In total, I think they had three shots on target. My short-sightedness precludes me stating how many shots we had on target. I think the windy conditions did help our play making last much, but then the conditions were the same for both teams. I think some of our shouts were lost in the wind, though./P>

Not a bad start to the season, could have been worse, could have been better. The most important thing was that we never got beat. Thought martin had a superb game at the back and along with whoever partnered him (varied due to subs) and an excellent save by dave to keep the scores level at a crucial time in the game. Just like to add we're gonna get sod all off this ref this season and that was evident last night when he put in yet another poor performance.

I'm just glad to be back playing again, felt good after last night. Thought that there strikers had no chance at the long ball and turn at goal tactic that they had.

both teams were rusty and had a battler. was a fair result. you could tell that half of us haven't even seen a football for a month!
