Firstly, I apologise for getting angry. I know none of you liked me when I got angry, so perhaps I need CVT's avatar instead of little Brian!!
Actually, hang on - there is no need to apologise for being angry, because that was a result to get angry about! This is going to be harsh, and I know I am not one of the captains, but.....
Yes, they were a good team. Yes, individually none of us were that bad last night. However, individualism is not sufficient in this league and we lost last night because we were not a team. It has been said before that we need to do the basics of talking, passing and marking, and it was said again last night. This was our ninth game, and by now we should be playing as a team and getting the basics right. We did not.
Right, the positives. Individually we were good, and there weren't that many mistakes. We did score our usual one goal. All of their goals were well placed, including the little chip in the second half when I was stranded after the initial diving-block-save. We only conceded one goal in the second half, and that was down to better teamwork, rather than them taking it easy on us.
Two games left now. St Bede's will not be easy, especially if we do not do the basics. Perhaps we need to play three at the back for that one? We may need to beat Belle Vue to avoid bottom place, as we are now equal bottom on points with only our goal difference keeping us in tenth place - staggering considering our two big defeats.
Finally - chins up lads!! Let us get it right in these last two games, practice over the summer and then prove our bouncebackability next season.
