JIMMY GLASS's place in Carlisle history was assured after the madcap dash from his own penalty area to score the goal which kept them under the Football League umbrella. Though Glass has returned to Swindon, he will not be forgotten. All week fans in the Cumbrian outpost have been snapping up replica goalkeepers' jerseys with his name on the back, at £39.99 each. "We are getting orders from all over the place," said Jonathan Fuller, the club's managing director, "and we're having to order more stocks. It's a mark of the high esteem in which Jimmy will always be held at Carlisle. I am sure he will appear in every fan's all-time Carlisle XI."

Probably not in Scarborough, though.
