Carlisle, languishing in 92nd place in the league and staring at the end of it`s 71 year league run, was the big emotional story of the day on Saturday with a life saving goal scored 4 mins into injury time by on-loan goalkeeper Jimmy Glass. That wonder goal, from the last kick of the game, gave Carlisle a 2-1 win over Plymouth and enabled it to leapfrog Scarboro, which went down to the non-league conference. Manager Nigel Pearson said "If I`d scripted an end like that I wouldn`t be in this game, I`d have a very highly paid publisher`s contract!" It is widely acknowledeged that it would have been disastrous for a club with Carlisle's history and potential to have been relegated.
