March 1998

Well February was a bit of a seesaw month with us dropping to the bottom and then rising back out of the relegation zone. The division is still too tight to call but the wins over Preston (0-3) and Burnley (2-1) were both particularly satisifying and essential to our survival in Division 2.

What wasn't as satisifying was the actions of a few brain-dead morons at the Burnley match. My brother (who lives in Burnley) was up with the son and nephew of his neighbour. Now these boys (11 and 13) had to come into the Carlisle section with us and my season ticket seat is in the East Stand up against the away fans. At the end of the match the Burnley fans were throwing coins at us and we had to shield these boys from their own fans. To add to this, when we got outside there was a fight right next to us on Warwick Road.

Anyway, looking at the table and the remaining games I think that we should stay up, but the last match against Luton may yet be the decider. With that in mind, I am organising a wee roadtrip to London with a stop off at Alton Towers on the Friday afternoon :-) Unfortunately, my lodger (and friend) has to work - hahahaha ;-)

I haven't had a chance to add much to the website this month - my new pastimes on a Friday night in the Front Page are eating into my time a little bit ;-)
