Well, it has been a long time since I updated this website, but some of you will know the reason why. Following a change in personal circumstances, I've been looking for work in Cambridgeshire and I now have a new job there, which I start this month. Consequently, I've not had the time to dedicate to the website and so just left it alone. However, now that things are settling down, I will be updating the website again with my monthly comments, although this season this will be from the exile's perspective, rather than a Carlisle resident's.
Well, only a week to the opening game. Yet again, there seem to be some mixed opinions on our chances this season. Looking back to last season, I was expecting mid-table mediocrity for the first year under Courtenay and seeing it as an improvement on the season before under Knighton, but it was not to be. Yet again, we struggled for a large part of the season before escaping once more. As it has turned out, that was my last season watching CUFC as a Carlisle resident since, as some of you already know, I'm moving to Cambridgeshire in a couple of weeks. Luckily, I will still be in Carlisle for the first game and in my usual place in the East Stand.
So, what can we expect of Carlisle this season? Well, as a Newbie Exile I'll have the joy of watching CUFC more times away from home that at home, so judging by last season I may see more wins !-) Seriously though, perhaps the regeneration is going to take longer than expected, but I would still hope to see us pushing for a play-off place at least this season.
