A better performance on the whole today, players prepared to get stuck in and fight a little. Most talent was on show from Halifax, Rowe and Patterson showing real skill. Billy Barr struggled throughout the game to contain Rowe, almost giving a penalty away struggling to keep up with him , and allowing himself to be turned inside out when the player struck the opening goal. The equalising goal came from Dobie, a powerful cross was whipped in from the right by Bowman, which Dobie met with an equally powerful header, giving the keeper no chance. Late in the game both teams had excellent chances to claim all the points , a Halifax player side-footing wide from 6 yards when it looked easier to score, and Prokas one on one with goalkeeper, blasted over ! Strange man of the match award (again), Anthony getting the vote, where i thought Dobie might have edged it . But we do need Weaver back quick, the boy Ingram is a good shot stopper but fails to command any of his penalty area, he comes out very rarely for crosses and if he does usually just flaps a hand at them. Any Ilkeston scouts watching must be going back saying ," knock high balls in at their keeper" , i shudder to think what might happen. Ian R Scott
