Another last minute defeat. Should have been a United victory. The decade, the century and the millennium ends with a cruel and unjustified defeat. This team is not that bad. We need an effective striker, above all else. The last time we scored two goals in a game was three months ago on Sep 25. We need massive and unparalleled support - let's all get behind them on Jan 3 for SOS 2000 day.
P.S. Another crap ref. Didn't favour either side it seems, just generally useless. 3rd division players - Unibond referees it seems. When is somebody going to make a complaint about these inept "bastards in black" ? Why can't we share more of the Premiership refs? They may not be perfect, but they are clearly more consistent and professional in their approach than the part-time plonkers we are getting week after week in our league.

We were the best team over 90 minutes. We were superb for the first 10 or 15 mins in the 2nd half. But we weren't all over them for 90.
| Weaver | 8 | superb, no chance with either goal |
| Pitts | 7 | good runs forward, defended soundly |
| Clarke | 2 | Pulled all over the place for 90 mins - a good run but took wrong option at the end - hopeless as a defender - no positional sense whatsoever. Its between him and the woodwork for the Macclesfield man of the match - woodwork just gets it for actually doing its job - plus he should have been sent off for a wild challenge midway through the second half but the referee didn't have a clue what he was doing. He probably couldn't see half of it, he was 3ft tall - and looked like Tattoo from Fantasy Island |
| Brightwell | 6 | Usual composure, caught for pace a few times - possibly at fault for goals but too far away to see |
| Whitehead | 6 | Neat touches |
| Thorpe | 5 | he thinks he has to use his head when its above waist height. Somebody needs to tell him he is allowed to use his chest. Well off the pace |
| Prokas | 7 | never gave up |
| Durnin | 8 | good first touch, a second ahead of everybody else in midfield in his head, sometimes his feet kept up with his brain. Almost scored a cracking goal which Macc would not have come back from, but Macc man of the match, Woodwork, saved their bacon |
| Dobie | 7 | pacey, but needs to pass a little more |
| Tracey | 7 | Took goal well, wrong option at other times. Actually put effort in today |
| Harries | my man of the match. Effort, skill, had his man looking stupid. Cooper - take note, we may not need another striker |
We wuz robbed. We deserved all 3 points.

I am a Macc suppoerter living in Leicester, but have managed to watch Macc about eight times this season.
Carlisles' display in the second half was by far the best I have seen this season from a visiting side and as good as anything seen last season when Man City and Fulham both beat Macc 1-0.
All the Macc fans around me were delighted by the late comeback, but there was alot of sympathy for Carlisle - on the day they were the better side. If it is any consolation for your fans who made the long journey we know how you feel, Macc were beaten or held on countless occasions last season with late goals having been at least as good as their opponents.
I am sure if you continue to play such attacking football for the rest of the season you will start to get the results you deserve and start climbing up the league.
