2000.04.15 - Carlisle United 0-1 Macclesfield Town

How to win friends and influence people........ is not about to happen.

There is only a handful, if that of players I would keep given the choice, bearing in mind that it isn't and never will be. I'm sorry but the idea fans will run the club any better is (swear word) ludicrous. This TEAM deserves to get relegated after todays performance, the CLUB deserves better. This TEAM will get relegated if they continue their lacklustre displays of football, cries of get behind the team etc are a little late I'm afraid, (probably a couple of seasons too late). It would be a travesty but I'm afraid on the performance over the season, then it would only be justice.

Like I said in the subject line I didn't expect to make many friends saying this but for ***** Sake lets be realistic. For far too long points at home have been lost against shit teams.

I'm sorry, I would love Carlisle to stay up, but I don't think we will do it on our own merits and I think we are well past time for an injury time winner.........

This is in no way meant to incite hostility and anger but just the "conversation" someone mentioned about Utd, yes I do love my team, I will be there rain hail or shine, I am just looking for a silver lining.

we played some good football in the first half but we didn't really test their keeper. the second half was terrible. they kept coming at us down our left (wonder why) and eventually scored from a cross when clarke backed off, weaver stood on his line and the bloke headed in unmarked. a terrible goal. if we go down it will be conceding headed goals week after week that see us in the conference. after that we made no chances. mcckinnons extra stones started to take their toll and we lost all shape. reid (good) was sacrificed and clarke was substituted for searle (now theres an idea wonder why noones thought of that).

gutless wilkinson was nowhere to be seen instead leaving baker to take the flak on the touchline. however baker sent wilko to talk to radio cumbria telling him he was quick enough to be on sky sports last sunday after the chester win so he could go and talk to paul newton. apparently he swore 4 times in the interview. did anybody hear it?

its depressing that we could have been safe but 1 point from 4 home games (and indeed one goal) is relegation form.

two wins next weekend will see us to safety. got me train booked for saaathend with the london branch there it'll be like leyton orient again, though judging on the first minute of the match yesterday pitts would probably miss this time.

Chris I've always seen you to be one of the optimists of the list but on this form I'm going to relegate you to sad and depressed, with the rest of us! But then you pull it out of the bag when no one expects it, "two wins next weekend will see us to safety"!.

Thankfully  the teams performance keeps my feet firmly planted, I just wish that fat lady would holler!

Nice to see Nigel Pearson celebrate an AWS Final victory, I thought he could have gone on to do more for CUFC,  and on the same theme us and Bristol City will be glad it is Lynch's last season!
