2000.04.29 - Carlisle United 0-2 Darlington

If only we had held on for another 10 mins we would have been safe now, but lets not think of what could have been lets take this performance forward and try and get something from Brighton. We need to win the match to make sure we are safe. But anything other than a Shrews win would mean they slip out, but lets not think about their match make sure we do it ourselves. Its still in our own hands.

I thought the stewards & police were crap as well my 7 year old son was narrowly missed by a coin from the darlo end when the blues scored I seen who threw it but couldn't get anyone to act. The game itself was brill no one could fault the commitment of any player wearing a blue shirt. Peter keen was outstanding with two superb saves.

First of all, it was nice to see so many of the IML at the game.

Carlisle played brilliantly up until the 75th when they seemed to be getting a little edgy as the prospect of safety approached. The Darlo goal was unfortunate, spawning from a 50-50 ball which Clarke didn't quite manage to reach before it was punted in towards the penalty area and, after a scramble, a good shot into the back of the net. Keen stood no chance.

I'd like to echo the noises about Keen. He had an outstanding game and I've every confidence in him as a backup to Luke Weaver. The boy should be proud of his performance.
